Organic Sencha Kanaya Midori
Organic Green Tea, Loose Leaf
We are proud to offer this excellent organic green tea from the Kanaya Midori cultivar which is grown on Yakushima Island (Kagoshima), Japan's very first registered UNESCO “World Natural Heritage Site. The island is verdant, lush, full of abundant nature and has just the right weather for growing outstanding Japanese green tea. The tea leaves are quite aromatic in the just opened package and have a distinctly fresh springtime odor when first infused. When the liquid is warm from the first infusion it is full-bodied and slightly grassy tasting with medium astringency. However, as it cools the astringency and boldness lessen considerably and the taste becomes somewhat mild. The astringency disappears in the second brew and the flavor is slightly earth and tasty. Organic Sencha Kanaya Midori has been produced according to the strict guidelines of the JAS (Japan Agricultural Standard) and is certified organic.
